Oh to know how to sew

Below are a couple of dresses Mama made for me when I was a little girl. Our friend, Sandee, smocked them. When Jocelyn was born I wanted to be able to sew dresses & outfits for her. I have only made two dresses with help from Mama. She has some more dresses that Mama & Big Mama have made for her. My goal is still to learn & to be good enough, so it doesn't take me 1/2 a day to made one dress.

I learned to sew when I was young and made most of my own clothes through my teens. I made a few things for my girls, but so far haven't sewn anything for my granddaughters -- I need to think about doing that. I've never done any smocking, but I love it. Very cute girl in these pictures!
